WWDC is a Worldwide Developers Conference organized by Apple Inc. once every year. WWDC is one of the most significant events in Apple. This year, Apple WWDC tickets have been priced at $1,599 for the in-person event. But from 2020, WWDC will be free for all developers in all-online format and it will be active this year as well. With Apple charging nothing even for those who visit Apple Park.

1. macOS Sonoma Gaming mode

Game Mode is a new gaming mode to be introduced to Mac, it is exclusive to macOS Sonoma. Game mode is enabled with macOS 14. It increases gaming hardware performance. This new game mode works with any game. It includes new and old Mac games. Also, as they say, they have doubled the bluetooth sampling rate when pairing Xbox and Playstation controllers. From the date of this announcement, the developer beta of macOS Sonoma will be available through the Apple Developer Program at developer.apple.com. And you can get the public beta through Apple Beta software. For that you have to go to beta.apple.com. The release is available as a free software update. 

2. First Beta of macOS 14 Sonoma

Apple has announced the new first beta program for their latest macOS 14 Sonoma. This access is currently only given to developers for testing purposes. Later, at the end of this year, arrangements have been made to provide access to everyone. Registered developers can download the beta through the Apple Developer Center. After the appropriate file is installed, the Apple Beta will be available to you through the Software update mechanism in the system settings. This macOS Sonoma gives you a new widget gallery. Also you can download new Apple TV like Screen savers. You can select widgets in the new widget gallery and drag them to the Mac desktop.

You can arrange this widget in any way you want. Through this you can manage your iPhone widgets through Mac. Video conferencing has been improved by the new Presenter Overlay mode. Apart from this, you can see password ans passkey sharing, revamped stickers for Messages apps, faster and more responsive, PDF integration that makes it easier to manage PDF as other new features. This is planned to be released publicly in September or October.

4. tvOS 17 new announcement

This introduced FaceTime to 4K TV for the first time. Also, a new Control Center and your iPhone can now take the place of the Siri Remote. The control center now shows the system status. It includes time and an active profile. 

With this new FaceTime, Apple TV users can join video calls directly through the TV or start video calls through iPhone iPad and hand them over to Apple TV. New gesture based reactions allow callers to generate on screen effects using their hands. Such as hearts or fireworks. Split view facilitates users to watch a show or a movie simultaneously while attending the call.

Also, Apple says that video conferencing apps like zoom and webbex by Cisco will be launched for tvOS in the future. Also, Apple Music Sing gives users the opportunity to sing along with their favorite tracks. And this is continuity integrated to the camera. Thus, users can see themselves onscreen and can add entertaining filters. 

Also, Apple’s new tvOS allows your iPhone to find the lost Siri Remote. If your Siri Remote is lost, tvOS 17 users can find the location of the Siri remote by opening the Apple TV remote from the Control Center and linking it to the iPhone. Also, there is a Find My like interface that guides you to the remote and there is an onscreen circle to guide movements.

New MacBook Air with 15.3-inch display and M2 chip June 5 Monday Tim Hardwick announced the new MacBook Air with a larger 15.3 inch Liquid Retina Display that is powered by Apple’s latest M2 processor under the hood. Apple calls this the world’s thinnest laptop. This new MacBook Air is 11.5mm thick and weighs 3.3 pounds. It has an M2 chip. It is also twelve times faster than the MacBook Air and two times faster than competing laptops. 

This new MacBook Air has a 1080p FaceTime HD camera. and three microphone arrays, and it has been claimed by Apple that it can work for 18 hours with one charge. This new laptop has MagSafe, two Thunderbolt ports. It helps to connect accessories and connect a 6K external display. It comes with a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

This new MacBook Air 15-inch model comes in 4 colors. It includes Silver, Space Gray, Starlight, and Midnight. You can get this at a price starting at $1,299. It is $1,999 for education customers.

6. M2 ultra chip

This is the most powerful Apple Silicon chip currently available. It was unveiled at WWDC 2023. The M2 Ultra chip is based on an M2 Max chip. It first debuted earlier this year with the 16-inch MacBook Air. This new M2 chip has a 24-core CPU which consists of 16 high-performance cores and eight efficiency cores. This gives this chip a 20 percent faster percentage than an M1 chip. Users can configure the GPU with 60 or 76 next-generation cores, which is 12 times more than the GPU of the M1.

This new M2 chip has a 32-core neutral engine which is 40 percent faster than the M1 Ultra. It can improve video processing that can play back up to 22 streams of 8K ProRes video simultaneously. Now every MacBook Pro contains M2 Ultra Chip and it supports 192 GB memory. It is 50% more than the M1 Ultra chip. Apple also says that with the M2 Ultra and the Mac Pro, the transition to Apple silicon is complete across the Mac desktop and laptop lineups.
